Palagianello offers tourists the opportunity to admire the natural beauty of the canyon through guided trails which lead to the troglodyte village and cave churches. The canyon and the city center is dominated by the imposing Castle “Stella Caracciolo” dated 1300.

Ginosa
Ginosa-Stemma Inhabited since Palaeolithic, during the Bronze Age was inhabited by Messapi.
With the installation of the nearby Greek colony of Taranto and Metaponto, the plain ginosina domain was contested by two major polls.
In Roman times Ginosa was important for three reasons:
1) its proximity to the Via Appia that made her a sort of military fort;
2) its plan, which in the hands of few landowners, formed a solid granary for Rome;
3) organizational capacity in procurement of the Roman army.

Castellaneta
castellaneta

Castellaneta is located in the heart of the Cayon Regional Park . The territory has a strong concentration in the core city housing. The old town stands on the edge of the canyon and has a medieval layout, with very narrow streets and alleys, but the most valuable architectural treasures are Baroque. On the coast lies the village of Castellaneta Marina which has a touristic function. The village is totally immersed in maritime pine trees and offers guests a crystal clear sea and fine sand.
