The International Folklore Festival that from last year it changed its name to nternational Folklore Festival I"Land of canyons” is became with artistic and organizational ability of the folk group "City of Palagianello" one of the major events of recall in the Region Puglia and the entire Province of Taranto. In fact the Festival is entered in the roll of regional events and in the summer billboard "Opened cities". From last year, thanks to the Local Administration as well as Palagianello but also Castellaneta and Laterza, the event assumed itinerant character by touching with its performances the squares of the historic centers of these municipalities. The successes and the appreciations achieved in previous years urged us to renew our commitment in making this event even in 2010, and always with the primary objective to grow more and more the Festival, to create an event that will involve all municipalities of the Ionic arc. At the last editoins of the "International Festival of Folklore" in addition to the folk group "City of Palagianello" participated groups from Peru, Martinique, Nepal, Burkina Faso, Brazil and Italy. Theme of the previous editions of the festival and also clearly of the next will be peace. In the period of the festival the whole country of Palagianello is animated with new life thanks to the daily shows of the various groups involved. The participation of the public and tourists has exceeded all expectations, thanks to the performances that have taken place in some neighboring towns and that for the final evening created an attendance and a wonderful climate. The members of the groups involved have had the opportunity to know and to compare lots of situations very different from each other, creating a unique cultural exchange between participants. Moreover, the last edition was dedicated to the memory of Don Vincenzo Paradiso, who wrote most of the lyrics and music that our group brings to the stage to commemorate the traditions. He just disappeared the 3 of August 2008 during the final evening of the Festival .
